Car's ready, all packed and ready to go...

"Alright...hold tight... I'm a highway star"

Those were the lyrics blasting over the stereo as I left Seattle around 8:30 am.. The weather was beautiful, 80 degrees, not a cloud in the sky.

I headed out on I-90 West towards Ellensburg... The lush green scenery of Western Washington is always a pleasure to drive through...  Once nice little surprise...  I made a quick pit stop at a rest area in Cle Elum, and there was a sweet Ford roadster parked there... so I snapped a picture real quick and headed on.  Once I was past Ellensburg, I cut south towards Yakima, and made another quick stop and a scenic overlook perched high over the Yakima Valley.

I hit my first stop around noon... the Stonehenge replica in Maryhill, Washington.  The monument is high on a hill, overlooking the Columbia River.. The temperature, a sizzling 102 degrees. Stonehenge was pretty amazing, and I couldn't help but pay tribute to Nigel Tufnel while I was there.  Definitely worth the extra miles to see it.

I heading across the Columbia into Oregon... of course, I had the "Show Me Your Tits" sign in the window... a few minutes later a white Mazda tribute pulls up along side me... the girl in the passenger seat holds up a sign that says "Show me your dick!" on it.  I had a sharpie and some 3x5's in the car, so I wrote "OK" on one side of a car, and "U FIRST" on the other side.  So I held up the side that said "OK" and she chuckled, thinking she was gonna get a show... then I flipped the card over... She gave me the NO WAY IN HELL sign.. hahaha.  Couldn't get her to do it.  Oh well, I'm sure it will happen at some point.

Soon I was across the border into Idaho - and I saw the nicest thing I'd seen all day... 75 mph speed limits!

The rest of the drive for the rest of the day was extremely boring.  There's not much to look at in Southern Idaho.  It's flat, the road is straight.  Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.  Tired... got a headache.  My hands are numb from holding the steering wheel so long.  I need something to eat.  I'm bored silly.

I stop for the evening Twin Falls, Idaho... and my luxury suite at the Motel 6. What a lovely town.  The smell of hay hanging in the air, this whole town smells like hay. There's barely any parking, I end up taking the last spot in the lot... so I don't leave to get food for fear of losing my space..  My dinner is a small bag of pretzels and a Mountain Dew... YUM!  My dialup connection isn't working...

Okay guys... Sorry for the lack of content, but you're gonna have to wait until I get back for all the pics. Metricom (my wireless service) went tits up today, and  I'm not gonna upload them at 19.2k (the best speed I've got so far).... Podunk towns, what should I have expected.

At this point I'm wondering why in the fuck I went on this trip in the first place.  I'm thinking about home... wondering if this is all gonna be one big aggravation that does nothing but eat up money.  I hope it's not all like this.

I'm just gonna call it a night.

Tomorrow.... Moab, Utah.
