One of the first portions of I-70 East takes you through a winding canyon flanked by towering mesas.

Beautiful mountain views are visible on both sides of the road.

A thunderstorm in the distance was putting on a nice lightning display.

Uh oh... a familiar sight this time of year... road construction.  They had the highway closed down to one lane...

Good thing I'm the only car out here, so I can keep rolling at 75 mph...

Oops, I guess I spoke too soon...  I ended up following this truck at 20 mph for almost 40 miles.

Towering thunderheads loomed over the canyons.
