Arches National Park
Park Avenue

The Park Avenue hike takes you down a valley with immense rock walls on either side.  These walls are probably 700-800 feet tall.

A look at the valley floor, which is covered with shrubs and other vegetation.

That white dot in the sky is the moon... Give you an idea how HUGE these walls are..

Water flows through this canyon during rainy spells, and it has eroded a smooth river bed out of the soft sandstone floor.

The sun rising behind the towering walls made for a very impressive view of Park Avenue.

Another look at those huge rock walls.

My favorite view... this is towards the end of the Park Avenue hike, looking towards Courthouse Towers.
