I arrived at the bridge around noon, and the weather was warm but rather
windy.

I'm not entirely sure *why* they built this bridge, other than to say
they built the world's highest suspension bridge.

A look at the huge cables that anchor the bridge to the rocky hillside.

If you have a fear of heights, crossing this bridge will definitely give
you the creeps!

This picture gives you an idea of just how far down it is from the
bridge deck to the water, which is visible in the very bottom center of
the picture.

Another view of the bridge, as seen from the tram that crosses the
gorge.

I'd hate to fall off, that's for sure!

A nice view of the Arkansas River below the bridge.

A nice view of the bridge accented by the Colorado mountains.

The bridge is mainly open to pedestrian traffic only, but motorcyles and
a small trolley also cross the bridge on a regular basis.

I remember watching this guy bungee jump off the bridge as a kid!

You can see the water through the grating, and this sign says just how
far down it is from this spot.

Considering that you'd need a seriously long line just to reach the
water, I think this is a no-brainer!
